Barcelona / Montserrat - Day Three - February 25, 2008

Since it was sprinkling today, I went to a town nearby Barcelona, Montserrat. It is a 45 minute train ride and a cable car up the mountain. The cathedral is famous for La Moreneta, or virgin, who gives blessing by touching her orb.

There was a lot of fog, so the view from the mountain was eerie. After a 45 minute train ride back to Barcelona, I walked to Santa Maria del Mar. Santa Maris del Mar is a cathedral that was built by rich merchants and sailors. I didn't take any pictures because it was too dark in the church at night. I will return during the day. I hobbled back to my hotel and had dinner and early night.
